Harmonious development through process.
The commercial and emotional dynamics of family enterprise are demanding of academic understanding and specialist consultancy skills. To be effective this consultancy should be objective and impartial.
There is no such thing as a typical family business as they all have different commercial and emotional demands upon them. I specialise in helping them clarify the issues that they face and to develop effective ways forward.
Many family businesses fail as they endeavour to find fair and equitable solutions to passing the business on. As well as guiding them through the succession process I'm also able to provide support in resolving ongoing disputes or an immediate crisis. Additionally, I'm able to provide constructive guidance on business structuring and role responsibilities.
As a founding director of our own family businesses and with over 30 years of working with other family business clients I have experienced many complex situations. My postgraduate qualifications are in family business dynamics and consultancy and I'm a fellow of the International Centre for Families in Business.
Many professionals ask me why I would want to get involved in such a demanding field and I remind them of the national failure rate, 70+%, and the pain that they have witnessed.
Breathing life into the resolution of such problems and creating a new collective energy is one of the most fulfilling things one can do.
